Celebrating Women Leading Sustainable Change Across Africa

G100 South Africa Celebrates Women’s Month, South Africa, 18 August 2025.

South Africa hosted a remarkable hybrid event in celebration of Women’s Month, under the inspiring theme “Honouring Women Leading Sustainable Change.” The event brought together distinguished participants from various African countries, both in person and online, to celebrate South African Women’s Day and the power of women’s leadership in driving sustainability.

The event was graced by Dr. Judy Dlamini, a leading businesswoman and Chancellor of Wits University, Johannesburg, who delivered an insightful keynote address that inspired attendees to continue advocating for women’s empowerment and inclusive leadership. Dr. Harbeen Arora-Rai, the G100 Founder and Global Chairperson, joined the session and gave a resounding speech that resonated deeply with all participants.

Khosi Sibisi, G100 Global Chair for Sustainable Mining ESG, highlighted the importance of recognising and supporting women’s leadership across diverse sectors. She also mentioned that other Country Chairs will identify significant events to celebrate within their regions, further strengthening the G100 network’s impact across the continent.

In addition to honouring phenomenal women leaders, the event celebrated the He-for-She Champions—men who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to supporting gender equality—with special recognition for their contributions.

Guests attended in style under the dress code theme, “A Touch of Black & Gold,” symbolising elegance, strength, and unity. The event concluded with networking and discussions on advancing sustainable practices through collaboration and empowerment.

Organised by Sustainable Mining ESG, the celebration served as a reminder of G100’s unwavering dedication to promoting women’s leadership, sustainable development, and inclusive growth across Africa and beyond.
