Marat Atovmyan is the Founder, CEO, and Advocate at ATOVMYAN Law Practice and Consulting. He serves as the Vice President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and is an International Expert. Mr. Atovmyan is also a member of the International Lawyers Assisting Workers Network (ILAW Network), a former member of the EU-Armenia Civil Society Platform, and a former member of the Public Council of Armenia. Additionally, he is a Board Member of the Swiss Alumni Association, a member of the ISCOMET NGO (Slovenia), and a member of the Academic Council of the International University of Applied Sciences and the Academic of the International Academy of Neuroscience.
He began his professional career in 1996 after graduating from university, when he was recruited by the Ministry of Social Security of Armenia. Since then, he has worked in various state, international, and public organizations. As both a national and international expert, he has extensive experience collaborating with numerous international bodies, including UNHCR, IOM, UNDP, ILO, UNICEF, the EU, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, and USAID.
Mr. Atovmyan has provided legal services to public institutions, local self-governance bodies, international and regional organizations, as well as both commercial and non-commercial entities. He has represented clients before state and non-state bodies and has contributed to the implementation of practical conflict management tools and emergency procedures in client organizations to aid in dispute resolution.
He also possesses significant experience in conducting analysis, research, and academic studies. Mr. Atovmyan has been lecturing for 25 years and is the author of approximately 40 publications.
Throughout his career, he has organized and conducted over 50 seminars, workshops, discussions, and student conferences on various topics, including human rights, labor law, anti-corruption, good governance, and integrity. He has also delivered lectures and presentations at all of these events.
In 2012, Mr. Atovmyan initiated the inclusion of training on anti-corruption and integrity into the official training programs for civil and community servants in Armenia at the state level.
As a visiting lecturer, he has delivered lectures at the Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences, the Educational Complex of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, the Kyrgyz State Law Academy under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the American University of Central Asia, the Law Institute of Kyrgyz National University, and Tbilisi State University.
