Dr. Anush Gasparyan
Dr. Anush Gasparyan is a renowned expert in women’s empowerment from Armenia. With two decades of experience, she is a distinguished authority in the field, with a remarkable track record of advocacy, research, and education.Dr. Gasparyan established the RoMana Center for Women’s Rights and Leadership, a pioneering initiative dedicated to empowering individuals to recognize their rights and supporting organizations in eliminating gender bias and creating harassment-free environments. She specializes in comparative law, bridging insights across diverse legal systems.Her primary academic interests include women’s rights, human rights, and gender discrimination. Her doctoral research focused on working women’s rights, conducting a comparative analysis of Indian and Armenian laws.Dr. Gasparyan is a legal scholar with an LL.B. from the MYUD Institute of Law, Armenia, and holds an MCL and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, India. During her time at Delhi University, she served as President of the International Women’s Student House, representing women from over 100 countries and fostering cross-cultural dialogue and empowerment.An accomplished author and lecturer on gender justice, Dr. Gasparyan has written a book on Women’s Human Rights in India, along with numerous articles and research papers on gender equality, maternity rights, and workplace sexual harassment. Her PhD thesis, “Working Women’s Rights: A Comparative Study of Laws and Practices in India and Armenia,” examines the legal frameworks and societal contexts in both countries, highlighting judicial approaches, identifying gaps, and offering key recommendations.She has designed and delivered workshops globally on topics such as prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace and mainstreaming gender in policy. Dr. Gasparyan has been associated with esteemed organizations, including the National Human Rights Commission of India, Institute of UN Studies in India, Committee of State and Legal Affairs, Public Council of Armenia, Diaspora High Commissioner’s Office (Armenia), and other international institutions.
