Advancing Inclusive Innovation and Policy Collaboration for a Sustainable Future.

G100 Cross-Wing & Cross-Country Event, Parallel with European Green Party Congress, Dublin, Ireland, 6-7 Dec 2024 & 28 Jan 2025

G100 Global Chair Dr. Lizbeth Goodman (CARE Economy, Disability Inclusiveness & Social Innovation Wing) and Bodil Valero (G100 Global President 2025, Global Chair Security & Defence Wing) organized a two-day event in Dublin in parallel with the European Greens Congress in December 2024. This event was conducted in collaboration with SMARTlab at University College Dublin, the Wellcome Trust Reclaim Project, the European Commission, and other partners under the theme:

FUTURE GREEN – INCLUSIVE DESIGN THINKING FOR INNOVATION IN THE BIOECONOMY & CLIMATE

The timing of the event coincided with the Irish general elections, which posed challenges in securing meetings with government representatives at the originally planned scale. Nevertheless, G100 was provided with a demo booth at the Dublin Convention Centre in the Green Party Congress Exhibition area on December 6. At this booth, we showcased examples of Virtual Reality experiences, educational comics, and organic olfactory scents for Climate Action & the Bioeconomy, including novel VR and Olfactory exhibits created for the Biobeo Project and the VOICE Project, co-funded by the European Commission.

The activities were led by G100 Dr. Lizbeth Goodman, G100 Tara O’Neil, Country Chair Canada for Resilient Rural Communities and Senior Advisor to the Care Economy Wing Globally, and Bodil Valero, spearheading collaboration with the European and Global Greens.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with Irish politicians, parliamentarians, and Green Party members from across Europe, as well as leadership figures from the European Green Party.

We also organized a G100 Multi-Wing Meet and Greet over tea at the Spencer Hotel, near the Dublin Convention Centre. The discussions focused on our collaborative approach, potential joint initiatives, and the necessity of expanding cross-wing activities.

On December 7, Dr. Lizbeth Goodman conducted a participatory workshop alongside G100 members Dr. Colin Keogh (Care Economy Wing Denim Partner) and Dr. Tara O’Neil at University College Dublin’s International Village. Participants engaged deeply in futures thinking with a real-world impact, and another workshop for G100 is planned in the near future.

Follow-Up Meeting on January 28: Strengthening Collaboration

The group reconvened in Dublin on January 28, where they presented G100 and the ELLEGOSSSE framework to the board of the African European Parliamentarians Initiative.

The ELLEGOSSSE framework stands for Education, Legislation, Leadership, Empowerment, Governance, Ownership, Security, Sustainability, Solidarity, and Equality. It serves as a comprehensive roadmap for gender equality and empowerment through 100 strategic recommendations, divided into 10 recommendations under each of the 10 focus areas.

During this follow-up session, the G100 group also had the opportunity to meet with former Labour Minister Brendan Howlin. Additionally, the group broadened its outreach, engaging more individuals interested in learning about G100, thus expanding awareness and strengthening support for the mission.
