As the G100 Smart & Sustainable Cities Wing, it was a great pleasure to conduct the panel session titled “Fostering More Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Urban Development” on November 5th at the Clean Cities Stage of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC25) in Barcelona, thanks to SCEWC25 for our strategic partnership.

 

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to SCEWC25 for their kind invitation to organize our panel event and for hosting us. It’s wonderful to hear that the 14th edition of SCEWC25 concluded with more than 592 speakers from five continents, 1,190 exhibitors, 27,104 attendees, and 359 sessions.

 

We are immensely grateful and deeply appreciate the leadership and support of Ms. H.E. Zeynep Bodur Okyay, the Global Chair of G100 Smart & Sustainable Cities Wing, CEO and President of the Kale Group of Companies, for delivering the keynote speech at our panel.

 

Our keynote and speakers included: H.E. Zeynep Bodur Okyay, G100 Global Chair; Alfonso Vegara, G100 Denim Club Partner; Martina De Sole, G100 Global Advisory Council Member; Olga Chepelianskaia, G100 Country Chair for India; and Verónica Ramírez del Valle, G100 Country Chair for Spain. The session was moderated by Berrin Benli, G100 Wing Coordinator.

During this panel event, we discussed the gaps in addressing global sustainability and resilience challenges, mainly related to the climate crisis and natural disasters faced by our cities, with the goal of fostering sustainable urban development. Our panelists shared their ideas and experiences regarding the use of innovative governance practices and technologies to address these challenges.
