H.E. Dr. Maya Morsy  

She is the President of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) and holds the national award as one of the 100 most influential women in Egypt. Prior to this presidential role, Dr. Morsy served as the UNDP’s Gender Regional Advisor and Head of the Egypt Country Office for the United Nations Fund for Women, and also as Country Director of UNIFEM.

Dr. Morsy has over 24 years of experience with national, regional, and international organizations through her work in the National Council for Women, the United Nations Agencies, USAID, academia, and the private sector. Her work experience has strengthened strategic partnerships with the League of Arab States, the European Union, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the African Union, the Union for the Mediterranean, government organizations, civil society, academia, and the private sector.

She has managed and led more than 50 programs and has authored more than 45 training manuals, books, articles, research, and policy papers. With a Ph.D. in Public Policy, her areas of focus are public policies, public administration, social and economic policies, human security, human rights, international conventions and treaties, strategic planning, political and democratic transition, gender equality, gender-responsive planning and budgeting, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and social innovation et al.
