Dr. Dominique J.E. Delporte Vermeiren 

She is President of Groupe VerDel Holding, and CEO of VerDel Innovation and Social impact Tech investor. She is a seasoned (non-) executive, serial entrepreneur, social impact tech investor, researcher and EU policy writer. Today she acts as CEO of a boutique consulting firm in governance, strategy and enterprise architecture and is President of the Family Holding. Her international signature spans over three decades and is three-fold: 1. as corporate executive (Fortis, KPN, TNT, EPO, Wolters Kluwer, Coface, Atradius, Graydon, Delporte Management & Consultancy DMC bv) from 1998 to 2016 ; 2. as VC partner and social impact investor (TNWCF – Borski Fund, AquaTigres Fund) from 2012 until 2022  ; 3. as academic lecturer and researcher from 2003 to date

This threefold career path has influenced the way she approaches complex social issues and characterizes her as an independent strategic thinker, a technology futurist with a passion for complex problem solving and a continuous learner.  Where others see complexity, she sees patterns, opportunities and solutions. She has a master’s degree in business sciences from the KU Leuven, Belgium and holds a PH.D in business administration from the Erasmus University in the Netherlands. She was lecturer at Rotterdam School of Management and Oxford university in the period 1998 to 2004 and became professor in strategic management at the university of Antwerp. She was the Managing Director of the Antwerp Management Business school from 2005 to 2007 and member of the academic advisory board and visiting professor at the IC institute in Beerzel, Belgium from 2014 to 2021. Today her field of research focuses on the management of uncertainty, complexity & resilience and on the fair governance of technology. She is a mandated board director since 2005 with an international certification (ESSA Netherlands, Guberna/ Febelfin Belgium, EcoDa Brussels, Insead France).She is actively advocating for gender equality in Boards, and in STEM education and innovation.
