H.E. Veronique Herminie

H.E. Veronique Herminie is the First Lady of the Republic of Seychelles, following the presidential elections held on 11th October 2025, whereby her husband, H.E. Dr. Patrick Herminie, is the President-elect. A highly accomplished professional and respected leader, she combines public service, private sector leadership, and advocacy with deep personal commitment to her country.

She is a certified chartered accountant and has been a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) since 2001. Alongside her professional journey, she is also a devoted mother of two young adults—her daughter is a practising medical doctor, and her son is a civil engineer.

With over 35 years of working experience, including 25 years in management and leadership roles, H.E. Veronique Herminie has held several senior positions across multiple sectors. She served as the CEO of Taylor Smith Naval Services Limited Group of Companies from April 2023 to December 2024 and as the Commissioner General of the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) from October 2019 to January 2023. She concurrently owned and managed VHS Business Consultancy, providing administrative services and tax advice to small businesses in Seychelles.

During her professional journey, she served as Deputy CEO of the Islands Development Company (IDC) and Green Island Construction Company Ltd (GICC) between October 2012 and October 2019. From July 2006 to June 2010, she held the role of Principal Secretary across several government departments. Her career has spanned land use management, construction, investment promotion, taxation, fisheries, environment, marine activities, and green technology, reflecting a rich and diverse professional journey.

H.E. Veronique Herminie is also deeply involved in advancing gender equity and professional development in Africa. She is a founding member of the ATAF Women in Tax Network (AWITN) based in Pretoria, South Africa, established in March 2021, and has served as Chairperson of the AWITN Board since November 2022. AWITN provides a dynamic platform for women in tax-related fields across Africa to connect, collaborate, and advocate for gender-responsive policies. Through its successful mentorship and leadership programs, the network continues to empower women from government, private sector, and academia.

Her leadership extends to multiple executive board positions in Seychelles. Over the years, she has served on the boards of Seypec, Air Seychelles, IOT, SSIL, STC, SCAA, and as Chairperson of SFA and the Revenue Tribunal. Since October 2023, she has been an independent non-executive director on the Board of Directors of ABSA Bank Seychelles Limited, and since March 2024, she has chaired the ABSA Board Audit Committee.

Through her distinguished career, H.E. Veronique Herminie has demonstrated visionary leadership, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to public service, gender empowerment, and national development. Her journey stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication to the people and progress of Seychelles.
