Dr. Anita Caprice Powell

She is Pioneer and Changemaker with valuable leadership experience of two decades at the Michigan Department of Corrections, she believes that lives can be transformed with measures that enable hope, healing, renewal and dignity. She is committed to bringing constructive changes in prisons and correctional institutions through training, skilling and mindset change to those dealing with challenges of incarceration and preparing the path for their societal and economic reintegration.

A passionate proponent of the second chance to rebuilding a better future, she wishes to bring societal attention and community innovation to the forgotten ones. A prodigious poet, writer, calligrapher and wordsmith, she shares wisdom with Oracle-like energy, painting with her beautiful, powerful spoken performances the vision and imagination of our greater selves, igniting in one and all the desire to enrich our own lives and that of others by embracing our universal oneness and dissipating the illusion of our separateness.

No matter what life situations and backgrounds one comes from, she pours her creative gifts of movement, music, mindfulness and motivation into creating an alchemy of experience that moves and transforms one and all. She draws wisdom from the beautiful different cultures from across the world to bring home the message of Trust, Faith, Forgiveness, Oneness, Dignity and Humanity, providing a lease of life to those tormented with loneliness and alienation.

“What drives me,” she says “is the suicide rate globally, which I believe is indicative of a Beautiful Soul being in a place and space a separateness from a higher source than herself. What drives me is wanting to bridge that gap of loneliness and despair, with the confidence of that powerful love that is imbued within the heart and soul of one and all.”
